Case Studies
Data Recovery and conversion can be a dry, and not overly exciting subject until it is your data that is lost or needs processing when it can end up being the focus of your whole existence.
In amongst the snapped tapes, the hard disk that has a few bad sectors and the ARCserve backups that need to go onto DVD there are some interesting problems, some quite involved data conversion projects, unusual data recovery scenarios, and plenty of lessons to be learned.
Not every data recovery story has a happy ending, but some dire looking situations are not always quite as bad as they seem.
